Zeynep Ton is the author of The Good Jobs Strategy: How the Smartest Companies Invest in Employees to Lower Costs & Boost Profits.
Zeynep’s research explores how organizations can design and manage their operations in a way that satisfies employees, customers, and investors simultaneously. Her work highlights that even in highly competitive industries, like low-cost retail, it is possible to provide good jobs to employees, good service to customers, and great returns to investors.
Her work has been featured widely in the media, including The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Bloomberg TV, and MSNBC. Zeynep was named one of the World’s 40 Best Business School Professors Under the Age of 40 by Poets & Quants..
Prior to joining MIT Sloan, Zeynep spent seven years teaching at Harvard Business School. She received several awards for excellence in teaching both at HBS and MIT Sloan.
A native of Turkey, Zeynep first came to the U.S. on a volleyball scholarship from the Pennsylvania State University. She received her B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and her D.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. She and her husband have four young children.
